Prayer: In a state of reverence we will seek the Father for wisdom and discernment as we lead His people seeking transformation within the Chicagoland area. With hearts of worship we will remain faithful to our Father's plans. Phil. 4:6
Relationships: We will be intentional about forming true relationships with one another, in which loving one another, spurring one another on, meeting together, knowing each other, encouraging and building up each other will be a natural outpouring of the love of God in us. We believe that true relationships are formed when we follow Jesus command to love one another and to consider others as more important than ourselves. Romans 15:1-7, John 13:34-35, Hebrews 10:24, 1 Peter 1:22.
Unity: The value of unity is expressed in living out Jesus' determination that we all be members of one church, John 17. Unity requires that we determine the shared beliefs and practices that are essential in order to be one body of Christian faith. It also determines the process of grace and acceptance for all other matters of faith and practice that are non-essential to this Christian identity.
Evangelism: We will make sharing and affirming the Good News of salvation and life through Christ central to all we do and say. Through the leading of Scripture and the Holy Spirit we will express the ministry of this Gospel through our good works, our cultural sensitivity, our confidence and our respect for all people. 1 Corinthians 9:22; Romans 1:16; 1 Peter 3:15
Racial Justice and Reconciliation: We will be ambassadors for the unity among the races that is founded in our common relationship with God through Christ. This unity will come as resolutions of racial conflicts, confessions of past and present personal and systemic racism, and forgiveness for racial injustices are proclaimed and promoted by us all. 2 Corinthians 5:16-21; Galatians 3:28.
Diversity: We will value and celebrate differences that are God-honoring and Biblical, whether cultural, denominational, gender or intergenerational, realizing that together we are a full expression of the body of Christ and the exclusion of any limits the expression of the kingdom. Psalms 139:13-14, 1 Corinthian 12:4-7
Wholistic: We believe that the most effective way to reach our communities for Christ is through wholistic approaches to ministry that meet the growing felt needs within our communities today. Where Local Churches serve under God’s authority and empowerment to restore creation back to it’s original design. Acts 2:44-47/4:32,34 &3, 2 Cor. 8
Equipping: We will be intentional about preparing God’s people for works of service through the local church by investing the necessary time, talents and treasures needed in order to pursue the highest level of excellence in ministry practices. 2 Timothy 3:16,17
Leadership: We will encourage and equip leaders to fulfill their calling. Empowering them to embrace the gift of leadership. We will provide education, tools and fundamentals for future growth in them and their followers. Jud 5:2; Mt. 23:10 and Heb. 13:17
Partnerships: We will work together in cooperation and collaboration, believing that we can do more together than we can apart to advance the kingdom of God in Chicagoland. This is to be modeled first, pastor to pastor and then church to church and is to be routed in true relationship. Romans 12:9-11
